Fly Screen Installation Terms & Conditions

About Fly Screen Installation Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Smiths Screens website and to the supply and installation services we provide. They explain the basis on which we provide estimates, quotations, made-to-measure fly screens and installation services to our customers.

By requesting a quotation, placing an order or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Estimates and Quotations

Any prices shown on our website, including estimates produced by our online estimator, are indicative only and are not a final quotation. The final price will depend on the measurements, screen type, specification and installation requirements confirmed by Smiths Screens.

Where we provide a quotation following a home visit or confirmed measurements, the quotation will set out the agreed price and scope of work. A quotation is subject to any conditions stated on it and will only become binding when an order is accepted by both Smiths Screens and the customer.

If the requirements change after a quotation has been provided, we may need to revise the quotation before carrying out the work.

Made-to-Measure Fly Screens

Our fly screens are made to measure based on the dimensions and specification confirmed for your property. Customers are responsible for providing accurate information when requesting an estimate. Where we carry out a home visit and measurement, we will use the measurements we confirm to prepare the quotation.

Because our fly screens are made to measure for individual customers, the finished product may not be suitable for return simply because you have changed your mind once production has begun or the product has been made. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

We will discuss the screen type and specification with you before an order is confirmed. If you have any questions about suitability, please contact us before placing your order.

Orders and Payment

Payment terms will be confirmed in your quotation or order confirmation. Where a deposit or other payment is required, the amount and payment arrangements will be clearly stated before you place your order.

An order will not be treated as confirmed until Smiths Screens has accepted the order and any required payment has been received.

We will provide confirmation of the agreed specification and price before proceeding with manufacture or installation.

Installation

Installation dates and times will be agreed with you in advance. We will make reasonable efforts to arrive at the agreed time, but circumstances outside our control may occasionally cause delays.

Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the windows or doors where the screens are to be installed. Please let us know in advance about any access restrictions, unusual installation requirements or potential hazards.

We will carry out installation with reasonable care and skill and will leave the immediate work area reasonably tidy.

Faults and Remedial Work

If you believe a fly screen is faulty, damaged or has not been installed correctly, please contact Smiths Screens as soon as reasonably possible and explain the issue.

We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange reasonable remedial work. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights relating to faulty goods or services that have not been provided with reasonable care and skill.

Please do not attempt to modify or repair a screen yourself before contacting us, as this may affect our ability to assess the original issue.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers must ensure that the information and measurements they provide are accurate where they are responsible for providing them. Where Smiths Screens carries out the measurement, the confirmed measurements will be used for the quotation and manufacture.

Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the installation area at the agreed time. The area should be reasonably clear and accessible so that the work can be carried out safely.

Customers should tell us about any circumstances that may affect the installation, including access restrictions, fragile surfaces, unusual window or door arrangements, or other potential hazards.

Cancellation & Changes

Where you have a legal right to cancel your order, we will explain how that right applies to your order and how to exercise it. Cancellation rights can depend on how and where the contract was entered into and whether the goods are made to your individual specification.

Because our fly screens are made to measure, certain bespoke or customised goods may be excluded from a statutory right to cancel once the relevant conditions apply. This does not affect any other statutory rights you may have.

If you ask us to begin a service during a statutory cancellation period, we will explain any applicable rights and charges before the service begins. If you wish to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can discuss what is possible before manufacture or installation begins.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact Smiths Screens and tell us what has gone wrong. We will review your concerns and aim to resolve them promptly and fairly.

Please provide any relevant details, such as your quotation or order information, the property address and a description of the issue. Where appropriate, we may ask to inspect the screen or installation so that we can understand the problem and agree a suitable resolution.

Nothing in this complaints process limits your statutory consumer rights.

Our Responsibilities and Your Legal Rights

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and will aim to provide goods that match the agreed specification and are of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose where required by law. Your statutory consumer rights apply in addition to these terms and are not excluded or reduced by anything in this document.

If something goes wrong, the remedies available to you will depend on the circumstances and may include repair, replacement, repeat performance or a price reduction where provided by law.

Privacy

Information we collect and use in connection with enquiries, quotations, orders and our services is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You can read our Privacy Policy on this website.
